Dear ISARP Members:
It is my honor and privilege to participate in the International Society for the Advancement of Respiratory Psychophysiology as your 2011 President. Our Society has been blessed with outstanding leadership from 2010 President Nick Giardino and 2010 ISARP Board. Our leadership has provided a strong foundation for our launch into this next year. Nick has provided a template for the success of ISARP as the leading society for respiratory psychophysiology. I would also like to thank retiring Board members Andreas von Leupoldt for his service as Past President and Andrea Vovk for her service as our Secretary-Treasurer. We also welcome Mariella Lane as our new Secretary-Treasurer and Jon Feldman as the President Elect. I hope you will take a moment to browse the updated web site, thanks to the efforts of Sibylle Petersen. I hope you have bookmarked our web page, http://isarp.org.
I would like to especially thank Jon Feldman for organizing and hosting the 2010 ISARP Conference in New York. Returning and new member research presentations were stimulating and enlightening. Congratulations to our student research award recipients. Our invited addresses by Drs. Rosalind Wright and Donald Klein and the symposia were excellent opportunities to expand our understanding of respiratory psychophysiology.
We are now looking forward with great anticipation to the 2011 ISARP meeting, with details provided below. Mark your calendars, invite your colleagues, submit your abstracts and join us!
I wish you all a productive and successful 2011. I anticipate hearing and seeing some of your productivity at our ISARP conference.
Paul W. Davenport, PhD
2011 ISARP President
